[I], LORIS GREAUD – CENTRE POMPIDOU ET LOUVRE (PARIS)

2013

ARTER produced [I] by Loris Gréaud, a joint project between the Pompidou Center and the Louvre Museum.

The first part, presented in the Forum of the Pompidou Center, showcased the Drop Tower, a monumental and performative sculpture in which a man falls from the top at regular intervals before repeating the process in a cyclic, almost mechanical, manner.

At the same time, the artist presented, under the Louvre Pyramid, a ghostly and mysterious statue. Modeled after Michelangelo’s Rebellious Slave, the draped form only conveys the silhouette to the curiosity of the visitor like an inauguration forever without the unveiling.
